EFKO's Board of Directors Took Decision to Close Dairy Products Business 21 November 2023
Production facilities will be refocused on plant-based alternatives for exporting

Vegetable fats, proteins, and oilseed processing will continue to be the company's core business sectors. Additionally, we'll keep funding cutting-edge innovations: deep-processing technologies for sunflowers, plant-based alternatives to meat and milk, sweet proteins, and products for healthy longevity.

“The Russian yoghurt market is mature and saturated,” Sergey Ivanov, EFKO Executive Director, commented on the decision. “For effective activity in this direction, it is advisable to be deeply integrated with milk producers. Two years ago, implementing a new development strategy, we sold our dairy production, Zelenaya Dolina company. But we compromised and saved the yoghurt line.

Making this decision today hurts. We understand that we are depriving many consumers of their favourite product. But it was accepted unanimously. When we said "a," it ought to have responded with "b" right away. Furthermore, numerous projects never seem to have adequate resources. This includes international expansion with plant-based alternatives to milk and meat. This is also about starting sales of sweet protein in the Middle East. Developing technologies for deep processing of sunflower protein while preserving as much of its natural benefits as possible. And our most ambitious and inspiring direction is cellular nutrition for healthy longevity.”
