“We need such examples, they require scaling across the country” 7 February 2023
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at the Biruch Innovation Centre

Laboratory synthesis of healthy sugar alternatives and plant-based proteins, development and testing of environmentally friendly solid oxide fuel cells - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov toured the Biruch Innovation Centre.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Dmitry Chenyshenko
“Businesses abroad usually account for about 70% of investment in science, with the government accounting for 30%. Israel stands out, where businesses account for 90%.

In contrast, in Russia, business accounts for 20-25%, and the government accounts for the rest.

The distinctive feature of the Belgorod research and educational centre is the high percentage of private investment. We need such examples, they require scaling across the country”.

The guests were not only able to assess the laboratory equipment but also spoke with staff at the innovation centre: scientists and participants of the training program for the senior executive talent pool. At the end of the visit, the officials toured the aircraft manufacturing plant, where the advanced aircraft was shown, including components designed at the centre: propellers, electric motors, drivers, body parts, avionics systems, etc.

Governor of Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov
“I am very glad that we have established a research and educational centre that helps solve specific manufacturing and technology tasks for our companies. And most importantly, to bring cutting-edge scientific developments from idea to production quickly”.

“For the past few years I have been working in Moscow in various areas of innovation management. Before that, I was in consulting. EFKO was appealing to me due to its senior executive training program, which is special for the Russian market. Overall, many of the company's projects are unique. I really hope to showcase my knowledge and learn something new. Biruch offers complete freedom of development, which is very valuable”.

Maksim Snegovoy, participant of the training program for the senior executive talent pool at the Biruch Innovation Centre
“I graduated from MGIMO, where I studied under a double program with an Italian university. Later I worked at the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, where the focus was on the Priority 2030 program for the development of higher education.

It is a special experience and good fortune to work at the Biruch Innovation Centre - on such an "island" of knowledge, endless research and development. I really like that the company prefers a competitive model where everyone strives in solidarity, that is, together, to achieve high goals”.

BACKGROUND
