Vladislav Romantsev, EFKO's Director for Strategic Development, signed a memorandum with Alfa-Bank at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to develop additional capacities at the Tula Food Processing Plant.
The plant is in Uzlovaya special economic zone and already produces mayonnaise and sauces under the Sloboda and Master Gurme brands. Once the facility reaches its design capacity, it will meet approximately one-third of the domestic market demand in its product categories.
"Supporting food industry enterprises is crucial for us because they guarantee the national food security. We are pleased to take part in a project that will create new jobs at a state-of-the-art production facility, and the plant's products will be on the shelves of stores across Russia," Denis Kutasov, Senior vice-president, Head of the Large Corporate Clients Department at Alfa-Bank, said.
"A new production site in the Tula region was intended to increase product output and reduce logistics costs," Vladislav Romantsev commented. "The plant already produces mayonnaise and sauces with an annual capacity of 149 thousand tons, and now we plan to almost double it to 270 thousand tons. This facility will rank among EFKO's most automated production sites, providing employees with a comfortable and safe working environment."
The project's implementation will ensure over 1,000 new jobs. The estimated investment in the capacity expansion is over 10 billion rubles.
