In 2024, at SPIEF, EFKO signed an investment agreement to construct the Tula Food Facility within the Uzlovaya Special Economic Zone. All utility connections to the site are now complete, and preparations for equipment installation are in progress. This fall, the first stage of the facility is planned to be launched here – the production of Sloboda mayonnaise. When it achieves its full capacity, it will rank among the largest mayonnaise factories in Russia, with an annual capacity of 149,000 tons.
EFKO intends to invest over 12 billion rubles in the new production site during its initial three years of development.
“The launch of a new site in the Tula region will increase production output and reduce logistics costs. According to our calculations, the delivery distance between the largest retail chains in the Central Federal District and Uzlovaya SEZ is ideal in terms of both timing and equipment depreciation," – Vladislav Romantsev, Director for Strategic Development at EFKO, states. "We are currently actively hiring for blue-collar and engineering positions. At the initial phase of the project's implementation, approximately 500 new high-tech positions with state-of-the-art equipment will be created. This facility will be among the most automated production sites that EFKO has, offering employees comfortable and safe working conditions."
