EFKO announced starting a plant construction in the Belgorod Oblast

EFKO and the government of the Belgorod Oblast signed an agreement to construct a feed enzyme production facility. The cooperation agreement was signed by Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor, and Rostislav Kovalevsky, EFKO Innovation Director.

The production capacity of the facility is planned at 2.4 thousand tons of enzymes per year, which will ensure import substitution in this market and provide the livestock industry with domestic feed enzymes.

"The company is actively developing technologies for producing enzymes, working closely with top research centers in Russia. We have previously begun the industrial production of enzymes like phospholipase, and we are proud to announce that all of the company's mayonnaises are now made using our enzymes. We are currently in the last stages of creating technologies to produce a variety of different enzymes that are essential to the food business and animal raising. It is no secret that these markets are almost entirely supplied by imported products. We believe that the successful implementation of this project will greatly raise the food security", – Rostislav Kovalevsky emphasized.

The estimated investment in the project may amount to 9.4 billion rubles.

"The implementation of the project in the Belgorod Oblast will result in the growth and improvement of the welfare of the region and create new employment opportunities for biotechnology experts," Mr. Kovalevsky believes. "We are grateful to the government for supporting the initiative and are ready to proceed".

The company has already started facility designing, and its commencement could be in early 2026.
